Assessments are a collaborative process involving the child, parents, and discussions with other team members such as teachers and other therapists or medical staff. Assessments may be conducted at home, school/kindergarten, or the OCC Therapy clinic. Observations, parent and teacher discussions and assessment results are integrated and interpreted in a comprehensive written report, combined with simple strategies and recommendations.

You may wish to have an assessment done if:
  • Your child has never seen an OT.
  • You do not have a recent OT report for your child (within 12 months, or one that reflects your child).
  • You wish to determine a baseline level of your child's skill set and/or there are concerns about your child's development.
  • You need assistance determining goals to work towards with your child.
